Rev. Jeffrey Bischoff , LPC, LPCC

Rev. Jeffrey Bischoff is an ordained Lutheran pastor and a licensed mental health professional who brings 30 years of combined ministry and counseling experience to his work. He is credentialed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) - designations that reflect state licensure to practice professional counseling - and he has also held social work roles earlier in his career. Beginning in ministry as an Associate Pastor in northwest Ohio, he focused on youth ministry, Christian education, and pastoral counseling, and those early experiences helped shape a long-standing interest in supporting individuals and families through life transitions and crises.

In 1995 he shifted into social work, serving as a Family Worker in a residential setting for hard-to-place juvenile offenders and later providing outpatient services that addressed mental health and substance use concerns. Over the course of his career he has worked with people across the lifespan on common difficulties such as depression and anxiety, and he has developed specializations in PTSD recovery as well as services for victims and offenders of domestic and sexual violence. He has maintained parallel activity in ministry, receiving training in Clinical Pastoral Counseling and work as a Spiritual Director, and he integrates that background into counseling when clients wish to engage the spiritual dimension of their lives.

His clinical stance tends toward a non-directive, client-centered approach, combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing within a Solution-Focused framework. He also uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Trauma-Focused methods as appropriate. As a caring and empathic listener, he adapts interventions to the needs and preferences of each person, including how much - if any - spiritual content the client wants to include. He has worked with a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, parenting and fatherhood issues, relationship and family challenges, grief, addictions, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and life purpose questions.

Rev. Jeffrey Bischoff offers a blend of pastoral insight and clinical training to help individuals navigate complex emotional and relational issues. He is not currently accepting clients.
